Twenty-five years later\, the three women are forced to spend time together\, leaving them wondering if they can reconcile the gap between who they are and who they used to be. They say you can never make new old friends – but are they right? \nGráinne is a novelist and short story writer\, with four literary fiction books published by Legend Press (UK)\, most recently Greener (2024) and Winter People (2022). Her short stories have been shortlisted for the Royal Society of Literature V.S. After a hiatus of seven years\, in which he interviewed the likes of Colm Tóibín\, Sally Rooney and Anne Enright for The Moth magazine\, he returns to his first love\, reviving the award-winning Moth Productions theatre company to take on the role of Oscar Wilde.

She featured in the documentary Songlines with Thomas McCarthy and starred in Oein DeBhairdúin’s acclaimed play\, Why the Moon Travels. He previously worked as a political and parliamentary correspondent for INN Radio News and as Dublin Correspondent with BBC Northern Ireland. Ken holds a Master’s degree in journalism from Dublin City University and authored All Kinds of Everything\, the official biography of Dana Rosemary Scallon. \nEugene Reavey\, born in South Armagh in 1948\, is the brother of John Martin\, Brian and Anthony Reavey\, who were killed by the Glenanne Gang in 1976. A founding member of the Truth and Reconciliation Platform (TARP)\, Eugene also leads Peaceful Futures South Armagh\, an organisation promoting understanding and reconciliation to create a peaceful environment for future generations on all sides of the political divide in the North of Ireland. Eugene has campaigned for truth and justice surrounding the murder of his brothers since January 1976.

DESCRIPTION:This masterclass with RTÉ Folk Awards Album of The Year 2024 recipient and Meteor award-winning songwriter John Spillane will get to the heart of songwriting and storytelling. John will focus on helping participants to lose whatever inhibitions and fears they may have about writing songs\, while also sharing tricks of the trade on verse\, chorus\, repetition and rhyme. Songwriters should be prepared to sing and embrace the joy of the process.  \n“At my songwriting workshops we actually write songs. Having attended a few workshops where the participants play their songs to be criticised by experts who talk down to them\, I was inspired to invent a novel approach\, where we all sit down and write finished songs in one session. This teaches many lessons\, including finishing things\, which is often a big problem for writers. I create a space where all negativity\, all criticism and judgment are locked outside.” \nJohn is a musician\, songwriter\, performer\, recording artist\, storyteller\, poet and dreamer.  A native of Cork\, he lovingly describes the county as “the centre of the universe” and a source of huge creative influence throughout his career. John’s music is inspired by and encapsulates Irish traditional music in its contemporary form – a reflection of Ireland today. With an extensive back catalogue beginning with the 1997 album The Wells of the World\, his songs have been covered by Christy Moore\, Sharon Shannon\, Sean Keane and many others.  \nBooking essential\, as places are limited.

She became a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2006 for her contribution to Franco-Irish relations. \nMarlowe is the author of How Good It Is I Have No Fear of Dying: Lieutenant Yulia Mykytenko’s Fight for Ukraine (2024)\, Love in a Time of War: My Years with Robert Fisk (2021)\, Painted with Words (2011) and The Things I’ve Seen: Nine Lives of a Foreign Correspondent (2010).

Her debut novel\, Snowflake\, was the winner of Newcomer of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards and was chosen for the One Dublin One Book campaign in 2024. Her second novel Everything That Is Beautiful was published in April 2026.

Born and raised in Northern Ireland\, she is now based primarily in Scotland. Niamh’s debut novel\, Twelve Days in May\, was published in 2022 and her second\, The Break-Up Clause\, followed in 2023. Her third novel\, Nothing Good Happens After 2am\, was published in January. In her capacity as a screenwriter\, Niamh has completed a pilot script for The Break-Up Clause\, while Nothing Good Happens After 2am is also in active development for screen adaptation. \nTanya Sweeney is a journalist and columnist who has written for many publications\, among them the Dubliner\, STELLAR\, U\, Irish Tatler\, and the Irish Times Magazine. Her debut novel\, Esther Is Now Following You\, a story about celebrity\, fandom and what happens when it all becomes a bit too real\, was published by Bantam Press in January 2026. Originally from Dublin\, she lives in Kildare with her husband and daughter.

DESCRIPTION:Irvine Welsh was born in the great city of Edinburgh and matured in the housing schemes of Leith\, West Pilton and Muirhouse. Neither school nor conventional employment appealed\, but he was inspired to write after experiencing the explosions of punk and rave first hand.  \nTrainspotting\, Welsh’s debut novel\, was rejected from the Booker Prize shortlist\, allegedly for offending the judges. Porno was adapted into T2: Trainspotting\, a sequel that reunited the original cast and crew.  \nRenton\, Begbie\, Sick Boy and Spud\, the much-loved antiheroes of Trainspotting\, inhabit a fictional universe based on Welsh’s experience of an inner-city Scotland blighted by Thatcherism and drug abuse. This universe has often been revisited in novels including Skagboys\, The Blade Artist and A Decent Ride. It has been augmented by iconic characters from subsequent books\, like Juice Terry\, Post Alec\, Jonty McKay and\, trying to keep them (and themselves) in order\, wayward cops Bruce Roberson and Ray Lennox. \nNow the author of fourteen novels\, including the forthcoming Resolution\, the third in the hit TV crime series\, and four books of shorter fiction\, Welsh enjoys a dedicated global readership and tweets prolifically\, mainly about tennis and corrupt politicians. He serves as the Official Ambassador of the Homeless World Cup and works with local\, national and international charities. He currently lives between Edinburgh\, London and Miami.

DESCRIPTION:Learn a series of physical and imaginative exercises that will awaken the expressive potential of your voice. Drawing on the work of world-renowned voice specialist Kristin Linklater\, author of Freeing the Natural Voice\, these exercises will give you a clear understanding of the elements involved in developing your voice and finding more freedom and release in the breath\, body and voice in the moment of speaking. The workshop will take you through a series or ‘progression’ of step-by- \nstep practical exercises that include relaxation\, awareness of breathing\, the exploration of vocal vibrations. The work aims to awaken the expressive potential of the human voice; making this workshop ideal for anyone looking for greater confidence when speaking in public. \nPlease bring a short piece of spoken text (poetry or dramatic text – no more than 6 lines) that you are familiar with.  \n(Be aware that exercises include adapted yoga positions\, floor relaxation\, arm-swings and other physical activities. All these can be adjusted to individual physical needs.) \n  \nRegina Crowley is a designated Linklater Voice teacher and uses the work to help people find an ease and freedom when speaking. She usually works with actors but has also worked with poets and people who find it challenging to speak in public. \n  \nWhat do I need: \nLoose comfortable clothing. \nA copy of the text you are to work on and a pen and paper to jot down notes and responses to the work. \n  \nBooking essential\, as places are limited.

DESCRIPTION:Jennifer Horgan is a Cork poet.  Her debut collection\, Care\, was published in 2025 with Doire Press. More recent work appears in Cyphers\, Poetry Ireland Review and The Stony Thursday Book. In 2025\, she was shortlisted in RTE’s Prompt series and her poem Crossing over Barrack Street won Best Irish Poetry Film at O Bhéal’s 14th film festival. Jennifer is a teacher and weekly columnist with the Irish Examiner.  \nEamon O’Leary took his time\, with I’m a Big Boy Now\, his humorous\, bestselling collection of childhood memories being published at the ripe old age of 72. He is a regular on RTÉ Radio when he reads his short pieces on the Word in Edgeways slot. Eamon lives in Carrigaline with his wife\, Ruth. \nMolly Twomey grew up in Lismore\, County Waterford\, and now lives in Cork. She has published two poetry collections with the Gallery Press: Raised Among Vultures (2022) and Chic to be Sad (2025). Raised Among Vultures won the Southword Debut Collection Poetry Award; Chic to be Sad was shortlisted for the Farmgate National Poetry Award and was a book of the year in the Irish Examiner. Molly holds an MA in Creative Writing and is a PhD Excellence Scholar at University College Cork.

DESCRIPTION:Vincent Browne has been a journalist since 1968 and founded Magill in 1977. In 1983 he revived The Sunday Tribune and edited the paper until 1994. Over the years he has also been a columnist for The Irish Times and hosted a late-night current affairs programme for RTÉ radio and a current affairs programme for TV3. He has also written a biography of Charles Haughey. \nOriginally from Broadford in Limerick\, he has been married to Jean Learmond since 1973; they have two children and four grandchildren.
