Paddy Doyle, poet and storyteller, is joined by singer and actor Rosie McCarthy, with both performers holding space, representing both the Traveller and settled community, and the ties that bind us. The result is a potent mix of story, poem and song.
Patrick Doyle is a poet, writer and storyteller based in Kinsale, whose work has appeared in magazines such as The Galway Review, Cork Words 3, Skylight 47, Revival Magazine, Drawn to the Light and Kilkenny Poetry Broadsheet. He was twice winner of the From the Well Short Story Competition and has performed at festivals all over Ireland. His one-man show, The Cauldron of Poesy, premiered at Samhain Festival Clonakilty in 2019 and ran for twelve shows in Kinsale in 2023.
Rosie McCarthy is a Traveller singer and actor from Macroom who is much lauded in singing circles throughout Ireland. She featured in the documentary Songlines with Thomas McCarthy and starred in Oein DeBhairdúin’s acclaimed play, Why the Moon Travels. She has supported the likes of Lisa O’Neill, Iarla Ó Lionáird and Leah Song from Rising Appalachia.
